Dynamics 365 or Salesforce? Here is What a Quick Price Comparison Reveals

For the first time, global analyst Forrester reported that the race between Dynamics 365 and Salesforce has tipped in favour of the former, although Salesforce remains a contender in the market. There are many reasons why companies now prefer Dynamics 365.

Both Dynamics 365 and Salesforce focus on modular enterprise-grade functionality and seamless business applications in the cloud.

Dynamics 365 offers a comprehensive cloud-based solution that allows companies access to core business functions, the most popular being the Sales and CRM modules, known as Dynamics 365 for Sales and Customer Service. The platform integrates seamlessly with the popular Office 365 tools.

Salesforce also handles enterprise CRM functionality through Salesforce Service Cloud and sales via Salesforce Sales Cloud.

The two options offer plenty of similarities, but what about the pricing options?

Pricing per Module

At a closer look, Dynamics 365 is about 35% less expensive than Salesforce.com for both the sales and the customer service modules – if only from a straight-forward software pricing consideration.

Dynamics 365 (Sales or Customer Service) – USD 95/user/month. Salesforce  (Sales or Service Cloud) – USD 150/user/month.

Pricing per Product Bundles

Both Dynamics365 and Salesforce make their SaaS subscription available for product bundles, at a significant discount. Again, the bundled sales and service customer package comes cheaper for Dynamics 365.

Note that the Dynamics 365 bundle includes four modules as opposed to Salesforce’s two modules, adding extra value and access to complimentary services.

Salesforce (Sales and Service Cloud): USD 175/user/month

Pricing for Small Business

Depending on the functionality required by your company, it is still possible to compare Dynamics 365 and Salesforce sales and customer service packages, albeit the functionality offered may vary from case to case.

Dynamics 365 offers a CRM option through Dynamics 365 Business Edition for SMEs, which includes the Sales and CRM module, as well as the finance, operations, customer service and marketing modules.

By contrast, Salesforce has a limited CRM option in SalesforceIQ CRM Starter for maximum five users, and a more advanced option, Sales Cloud Lightning Professional, which only extends to the CRM functionality and pales in comparison with Dynamics 365’s integration with other non-CRM modules.

Based on the above, the Dynamics 365 solution remains more affordable and better equipped than Salesforce when it comes to additional functionality and integration with business processes within the organisation.
