Business Situation
Acumen is a strategic IT Services partner and Cloud Services Provider to FiberLean Technologies (Pty) Ltd. The new company FiberLean, a joint venture between two listed companies on international stock exchanges, required independent financial and operational management systems, which Acumen curates.
Acumen contracted to provide a suitable cloud-enabled ERP for FiberLean Technologies, to complement the existing business strategy, operational management, and technology infrastructure.
Business Solution
Acumen and Strategix have a well-established partnership to provide complementary services for customers. Acumen focuses on providing strategic direction, program and project management services for the required system implementation, while Strategix delivers the technical domain knowledge to assist with the ERP installation and support.
Strategix implemented Dynamics NAV ERP in the Azure Cloud, tightly integrated with Office365 in the Cloud, SharePoint and FiberLean’s proprietary suite of applications developed by Acumen.
The Microsoft Dynamics ERP solution lives at the heart of FiberLean’s operations and powers Finance, Procurement, Production, Warehousing and Inventory Management, as well as HR and Employee-Self-Service tools through innovative integration with SharePoint and Office365.
Results and Benefits
The ensuing project was the first of nine prior ERP implementations that were completed in-time and on-budget by the incumbent CFO. The six-month implementation cycle enabled FiberLean Technologies to reduce legacy IT dependencies and to operate efficiently as a stand-alone entity.
FiberLean’s integrated Dynamics ERP solution is fully capable of delivering across the spectrum of Information Technology, Financial Management, Manufacturing, Logistics and HR. It also provides important cost reductions to clients, improves system efficiencies and process controls, while minimising project and implementation risks.
According to Pierre du Plessis, Chairman of acumen.zone, the successful Dynamics NAV ERP implementation was also made possible by the similarities in approach, culture, and philosophy between Strategix and Acumen, FiberLean’s Cloud Service Provider.
