Fiber Lean
FiberLean® Technologies is the leading global producer of Micro-Fibrillated Cellulose (MFC). Their process is robust, reliable and scalable. The product coming out of the FiberLean® Technologies proprietary process is a MFC-mineral composite. The mineral plays an essential role in the transfer of mechanical energy, transforming regular pulp into MFC. This also allows the use of robust and reliable industrial equipment.
Business Situation
FiberLean® Technologies were running on NAV 2017. Strategix Business Solutions did the implementation of their NAV 2017.
In the United Kingdom, a new law was passed: Making Tax Digital.
Any VAT-registered business with a taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold (currently £85,000) are required to keep digital VAT business records and send returns using Making Tax Digital (MTD)-compatible software to HMRC. The vast majority of businesses need to do this for VAT periods that started on or after 1 April 2019.
The Solution
In Business Central if a business is running a GB license, then they have access to the Making Tax Digital functionality, which was developed by Microsoft as an extension.
If the solution was not native to the GB license in Business Central the business would have needed to pay well over 100 hours for custom development to be completed.
Results and Benefits
FiberLean® Technologies has benefited from using the Making Tax Digital functionality in Business Central with the GB License. They were in fact one of the first companies in the United Kingdom to comply and successfully submit to HMRC.
The transition from NAV 2017 to Business Central Private Cloud was seamless and all business procedures took place as normal with no major interruptions.
